The Kingdom of God. This was Jesus primary message but it is something which we seem to hear little about in modern evangelical circles. Centuries of philosophy and religious tradition have clouded the meaning of some of Jesus’ most profound teaching. The revolutionary movement the Jesus and his followers initiated two thousand years ago has been lost under a sea of cultural conformity and “seeker friendly” simplification.
In the first century Jesus followers were accused of “turning the world upside down” with their teaching. They challenged the status quo, openly defying the religious authorities of the day with their radical message of God’s love, grace and forgiveness. They associated with those who were outcasts in their society – they crossed racial, political, religious and gender divides. They were so committed to their message – the Kingdom of God – that they even laid down their lives for it.
These were the true disciples. Not just church members, not even “believers” or those who were “saved” but disciples. True disciples of Jesus can and do change the world. This site is intended to provide encouragement and teaching and to stimulate discussion and debate. It’s purpose is to challenge you to become a true disciple of Christ.
